This addition was designed to use standard size glass panels (replacement panes for storm doors) and so the cost was minimal compared with custom glazing. this unheated space functions as an airlock between the main house and the outdoors, as well as providing tempered access among the greenhouse, basement and the shop. the brick floor acts a thermal mass to absorb the solar heat and re-release ater on, so as to extend the usefulness of this space.
